The Librarian II: Faculty Outreach Librarian at Cornette Library, West Texas A&M University, plays a pivotal role in enhancing faculty engagement and promoting Open Educational Resources (OER) on campus. This position operates under the guidance of the Librarian III: Systems and Emerging Technologies Librarian and collaborates closely with instructors and library staff to provide professional development opportunities for faculty. The focus areas include information literacy, database promotion, new faculty orientation, and OER topics such as open access publishing, copyright issues related to OER, and the use of platforms like Pressbooks for OER creation and publishing. In addition to leading OER initiatives, the Librarian II will co-chair the university's OER Working Group, manage the library's OER web presence, and create a Libguide that highlights resources available to faculty. This role also involves assessing OER program activities and assisting faculty with their research needs related to OER and copyright compliance.
