About The Position

The University Library at the University of Wisconsin–Stout invites applications for two visionary academic librarian positions: the Open Innovation & Engagement Librarian (.92 FTE) and the AI Literacy Librarian (1.0 FTE). These dynamic roles reflect UW-Stout’s mission as Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University, advancing applied learning, workforce readiness, and innovation through next-generation educational technologies. We seek forward-thinking, collaborative, and service-oriented professionals committed to shaping the future of teaching, learning, and research in a polytechnic context. Both positions report to the University Library Director, or designated supervisor within the library, and join a creative, collegial team working at the intersection of digital pedagogy, open resources, and emerging technologies. Candidates may apply to either or both positions. Open Innovation & Engagement Librarian The Open Innovation and Engagement Librarian champions the creation, adoption, and evolution of open educational resources (OER) that support high-impact learning experiences aligned with UW-Stout’s mission as Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University. This role supports faculty in developing affordable, accessible, and engaging learning materials. The position amplifies the use of digital learning tools through course-integrated instruction; embeds OER into polytechnic pathways, including workforce-ready credentials; and enhances the library’s outreach. AI Literacy Librarian As artificial intelligence (AI) reshapes the landscape of knowledge creation, access, and application, UW-Stout seeks an AI Literacy Librarian. This position will bridge the gap between traditional library services and emerging AI-driven technologies and help shape the future of academic librarianship at the University.
