W. Anne Gibson-Esmond Station Library is hiring a Librarian I to join us in making a difference—one program, one patron, one day at a time. The library is seeking a service-focused Librarian I to provide leadership and frontline support in a dynamic public service environment. This position includes in-charge responsibilities, supervision of Library Associate(s), and active oversight of tween and teen services, including the coordination and supervision of teen volunteers. The Librarian I will work a public service information desk shift of at least three hours daily, while also supporting key circulation functions such as check-in, pickup lockers, and phone coverage. This role requires the ability to tackle challenges head-on, including the rare occasional incident, with professionalism, sound judgment, and poise. The selected candidate will inspire and support staff, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and customer-centered team culture, and must be available to work Saturdays and evenings up to 7:00 p.m. This position may be required to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.
