About The Position
The Contra Costa County Library is seeking qualified candidates for the Librarian I classification, a role that is integral to the library's mission of "Bringing People and Ideas Together." The Library serves 26 communities and is committed to providing exceptional services that enrich lives through literacy and reading. As a Librarian I, you will be part of a dynamic and innovative civic institution that values community engagement and equitable access to library services. The position may be located in a specific branch or designated as a Floater position, where daily assignments will be determined based on branch needs. This flexibility allows for a diverse work experience across various locations within the county. In this role, you will assist patrons in navigating library resources, conduct programs for different age groups, and support collection development. You will also provide reference and advisory services, train support staff, and participate in the continual assessment of library collections. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a strategic approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to customer service.
