About the position

Works under the direction of the Senior Manager and/or the Public Services Supervisor to provide information services and assistance in the use of library resources and facilities to the public. Maintains and assists in developing collections. Supports training and collection development and coordinates specialized projects and collections or programs. Supports the library's policies, procedures, and goals by providing professional library services. Provides information services, reader's advisory and assistance to the public in the use of library services and facilities. Supports and assists in departmental and/or system-wide training of staff, volunteers, and the public. Maintains awareness of current adult and young adult services, activities, and programs. Oversees, coordinates, and serves as resource person for the development and maintenance of special projects, services, and programs for the department and/or system. Participates in developing the library agency's goals and objectives. Pushes fully loaded carts and shelves books, as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library school; or
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university and one (1) year of related professional library experience; or
  • Any equivalent combination of related training and experience which enables one to perform the essential duties of the job.
