The City of Mission Viejo is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as a Librarian in the Library & Cultural Services Department. Appointment of an applicant to fill the one (1) vacancy may be made from either the Librarian I or Librarian II classifications and the selection will be based on the applicant that most closely meets the requirements of the position and best suits the particular needs of the City of Mission Viejo. This is a 'hands-on' working position that will be responsible for designing, planning, coordinating, implementing, analyzing, and evaluating library services and programs; and provides complex professional and technical library services to the community. Currently, there is one (1) full-time vacancy in the Library & Cultural Services Department assigned to the Mission Viejo Library. This position is scheduled to work Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and one late shift per week from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The schedule may vary depending on the needs of the City including evenings and weekends as needed for programs. This is an FLSA non-exempt position and is entitled to overtime. The eligibility list established during this recruitment may be used to fill future full-time, part-time or temporary Librarian I or Librarian II vacancies.
