The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - Shreveport (LSUHSC-S) Library is seeking a motivated, collaborative, and service-oriented Archivist to join its faculty. This position is integral to the management of the LSUHSC-S Archives, which serves as the official repository of the university, ensuring the long-term preservation and access to a collection that documents the institution's development and history. The Archivist will handle materials in various formats and will be responsible for developing both digital and physical exhibits on a routine basis. Additionally, the role involves engaging in instructional activities and providing research support to the university community. The Archivist will identify, appraise, and acquire select historical administrative documents, publications, pictures, and artifacts that reflect the history of LSUHSC-S, its faculty, staff, students, and associated organizations. This effort is crucial for building and strengthening the Archives. The incumbent will collaborate with administrative units across campus to ensure that activities, awards, and promotional materials are properly cataloged in the Archives. Regular attendance is required to fulfill the responsibilities of this position, and the incumbent must maintain a customer-oriented approach, ensuring that customer satisfaction is met at all times. The work hours are generally Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
