This position will be tasked with managing and overseeing the daily operations of the Library Department's Mobile Services Unit, which includes Bookmobiles and Technobus; entailing the scheduling of the unit's routes for regular outreach stops and special events. The incumbent in this position will be tasked with regularly monitoring and assessing scheduled routes to include weekly ride-alongs in the Mobile Library Services vehicles with unit staff to the assigned locations. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for developing appropriate Library programs presented at outreach locations for diverse audiences, as well as collection management. At times, the incumbent in this position may be required to operate a cargo van or 24' Sprinter Bookmobile to service routes and make deliveries. The incumbent in this position will be required to work mornings, evenings, and/or weekends - subject to community requests for Mobile Services.
