What You'll Do.. • Assists incarcerated adults in the use of law library and materials (e.g., US code, Ohio code, criminal law reporter, DRC administrative regulations, institutional handbook) • Maintains proper filing of law books and dictionaries • Plans and outlines daily schedules for library use • Provides research information to inmates and/or professional staff personnel • Coordinates library services with other departments • Assists in development and implementation of programs for furnishing library materials to segregation units, infirmaries and/or other units removed from library itself • Provides supplemental materials for academic programs, vocational programs, literacy unit and college programs • Maintains a running inventory of library service materials and equipment and coordinates use • Coordinates use and scheduling of audio-visual equipment and supplies • Selects, classifies and catalogues books, documents, pamphlets, news clips, slides, films and other library service materials • Reviews printed and non-printed library material and recommends acquisition of new and/or updated materials, supplies and/or equipment • Screens material to ensure subject matter is appropriate for and pertinent to needs and interests of inmates and assigned library service area • Prepares budget requests for library services or grant application requests for additional funding • Maintains and updates specialized information services • Maintains card files (i.e., typing correspondence completion, updating files) • Performs and/or arranges for repair of materials and audio/visual equipment • Records expenditures and prepares reports • Performs clerical tasks (e.g., typing, correspondence completion, updating files) • Attends meetings, conferences, workshops and training in keeping with position
