About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Liaison Engineer (level 3) to join the Space Launch System program at the Florida Space Station Process Facility and Vertical Assembly Building, which are facilities owned by NASA at Kennedy Space Center, FL. Boeing works at these sites to build the largest rocket in history in the world. The project will eventually take the world to Mars. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience with Material Review Board / Liaison Engineering (MRB / LE) Authority (including participating in Material Review Board and Integrated Product Team activities related to aircraft structures)
  • Willing to work alternating shifts, holidays, and weekends to support customer’s needs
  • 3+ years of engineering experience
  • This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of repair concepts including repair station processes, component repair concepts, procedures, and warranty processes and contractual agreements
  • Production Engineering Experience on the Space Launch Systems Program
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline

Responsibilities

  • Apply broad knowledge of Boeing design and engineering principles
  • Assess and resolve product and process issues through the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement product and process improvement
  • Research of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and design interim and final engineering solutions.
  • Lead development of interim and final solutions
  • Analyze, conduct root cause analysis, and develop dispositions for design non-conformances
  • Address complex nonconforming conditions and to detect deviations
  • Analyze reported problems for potential safety issues; recommend and manage complex resolution
  • Represent the engineering community in the build through postproduction environment
  • Ensure supplier and build partner are compliant with Boeing standards
  • Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment
  • Support activities for on-site disabled product repair teams and accident investigations
