About The Position

The successful candidate will work remotely and must reside within a reasonable driving distance to the Erie Branch Office. This position exercises independent discretion and judgement in claims handling involving complex liability issues, to include coverage issues and severe injury claims.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Associates or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Five years casualty claims adjusting experience or equivalent experience in the medical or legal field required.
• Broad knowledge and expertise in the areas of liability coverages, laws and injuries required.
• Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of Associate in Claims (AIC) program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts investigations, evaluates and makes recommendations regarding coverage and liability.
• Handles claims involving complex liability, damages or coverages.
• Negotiates with all parties, or their representatives, within designated authority.
• Documents the file and submits reports.
• Identifies subrogation opportunities and initiates appropriate action.
• Completes required training.
• Provides support for property claims during periods of heavy volume.
• Trains and mentors.
