About The Position

Noblis MSD is seeking a System Engineer for the engineering of the LHA MCS program. This is an onsite position in Philadelphia, PA at the Naval Yard. Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. This position will be responsible for: Support the development of software development plans, control system instruction software, and software programs and packages from detailed requirements Support design, development, modification, analysis, review of documentation, testing and debugging software algorithms and programs to meet Ship Design Acquisition support, Tech Refresh, and Life Cycle standards. Maintain configuration control of documentation and software updates from vendors and other technical departments and provide analysis of any potential impacts that updates would have on CS/IS. Assist with development existing course materials, auditing ongoing courses and providing input into curriculum development. Postion will be on-site at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in an Engineering Discipline and 3+ years work experience or a HS Diploma and 9 years relevant work expreience.
  • Familiarity with LHD/A MCS
  • 20% travel required
  • US Citizen with a Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Lift and carry (with assistance) up to 50 pounds
  • Access and maintain equipment located in confined spaces
  • Ascend/descend ramps/ladders/stairs and work comfortably at varying heights
  • Reach overhead to handle, install, position and move materials
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks while crouching, stooping and kneeling
  • Work in environments with temperature fluctuations, including both hot and cold conditions
  • Sustain physical activity for extended periods, as well as maintaining balance
  • See details at close range, at a distance and from side to side
  • Detect alarms and respond to auditory signals effectively is requirement

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with development and/or modification of computer code in the following languages: C/C++, Java, Visual basic, and MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with NSWCPD SEP
  • Sec + Certified or able to obtain it with in 30 days
