Level II X-Ray Quality Technician
About The Position
Level II X-Ray Quality Technician – Graham, KY Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is a leader in energetic and non-energetic system solutions offered to aerospace, satellite and defense customers for a wide variety of applications. EBAD products and capabilities set the U.S. standard and are highly sought after in the international community. EBAD seeks a Level II X-Ray Quality Technician. This role will supplement our existing radiography staff supporting day-to-day operations and is primarily 2nd shift and is located in Graham, KY. X-ray duties will focus on production parts. Quality Technician duties will support ongoing production activities when necessary.
Requirements
- Certified Level II RT (non-film preferred) with NAS 410 or ASTM experience.
- Must be able to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Must be familiar with NAS 410 and ASTM specifications.
- Attention to detail while working independently in a production environment is required.
- Accurate records of activities and creation of discrepancy reports required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to use and understand calibrated measurement tools.
- Must be able to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) in English.
- Effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management
- The successful candidate must have graduated from High School or equivalent G.E.D. and 2+ years of experience with production and basic inspection of mechanical and/or chemical components in an aerospace or defense related company.
- Candidates must be able to work independently and interface with individuals at multiple levels in the organization.
Nice To Haves
- 2 years’ experience in Aerospace & Defense NDT and/or Quality role preferred.
- Familiar with AS9100 / ISO9000 environment preferred.
- Ability to operate a CMM is desirable.
- Formal radiography training to Level I or II is desired; however, EBAD may assist with, and provide allowance for completion of required radiography training if necessary for the right candidate.
- Must be able to travel for this training.
Responsibilities
- The candidate will be responsible for creating and review radiographic images of products and verify conformance to requirements in accordance with established technique sheets.
- Assist and maintain calibration status for the CR system in accordance with ASTM requirements and EBAD procedures.
- Complete accurate documentation to provide objective evidence of inspection.
- Review shop floor documentation for accuracy & legibility. This includes pre-production, in-process, and final inspection activities.
- Daily inspection of in-process materials and finished goods.
- Coordination of shelf-life controlled materials, calibrated inspection equipment, and lot acceptance sampling.
- Maintain shop floor presence to field & address quality-related questions and issues.
- Provide quality-related training to colleagues.
