About The Position

The Level II NDT Trainer will support projects in the Pasadena, Beaumont, and Port Arthur areas. The role involves performing calibrations, nondestructive tests (NDT), and evaluations to determine acceptance or rejection according to written instructions and recording results. Level II Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Level II Technicians are thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the NDT methods being used and are responsible for providing on-the-job training, guidance, and supervision to Assistants and Level I Technicians. This role includes organizing and reporting the results of NDT inspections.

Requirements

  • NDT Level II RT with OJT and state card.
  • NDT Level II MT, PT, UTT preferred.
  • PMI certification required.
  • Technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret inspection results.
  • Knowledge of NDT equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must test out in all required NDT methods with XCEL.
  • Complete and pass a DISA background check.
  • Complete and pass all required drug screens.
  • Complete and pass site-specific safety council training.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
  • Conduct NDT to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using multiple NDT methods.
  • Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
  • Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters, and visual indicators.
  • Organize, document, and report NDT results.
  • Perform specialized inspections as required.
  • Provide training, guidance, and supervision to Assistants and Level I Technicians.
  • Maintain compliance with all site safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
