About The Position

The Level 3 Post Release Services (PRS) Case Manager is responsible for providing culturally and linguistically appropriate post placement services and trauma-informed, intensive, and comprehensive case management to minors, and their families, with specific challenges and/or special circumstances. Level 3 PRS Case Manager will be expected to conduct ongoing assessments of the safety and appropriateness of the minor’s placement using child welfare principles and social work best practices. This position will report to the Clinical Supervisor.

Requirements

  • PRS Clinicians are responsible for intensive case management and must have a master's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science in which direct clinical experience is a program requirement with 2 years of clinical experience; or a bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of clinical experience. They may be licensed, or eligible for licensure, and must be highly proficient in Spanish or have access to qualified interpreters.
  • Must be skilled at writing professional, thorough assessment reports.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Position requires up to 50 percent long-distance travel with limited notice.
  • The position is remote and requires an appropriate workspace to complete documentation, phone calls, and video conferencing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including using Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams for maintaining contact with supervisors, coworkers, and to complete daily tasks.
  • Ability to type and be computer literate. Comfortable with using a tablet/iPad, or laptop to complete daily assignments.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required, proficiency in additional languages a plus.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to comply with mandatory state reporting requirements for child abuse and neglect.
  • Must pass a criminal background check that includes a National Federal Bureau of Investigation (fingerprint) criminal history, a motor vehicle records check, Child Abuse and Neglect Checks (CA/N), and state repository checks in all jurisdictions resided in the past 5 years.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, insurance, a clean driving record and reliable transportation (if required).
  • Successful completion of ORR/ACF’s Suitability Determination, a federal background check initiated upon employment (if required).
  • Possess or be able to obtain CPR and basic first aid certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in child welfare, child placements, family preservation and social service provision is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate post placement services and comprehensive case management for children.
  • Level 3 PRS services are provided in person weekly for the first 45-60 days, then monthly for the following 6 months.
  • Conduct trauma-informed and intensive case management to children requiring specific challenges or special circumstances.
  • Complete individualized needs assessments with children and sponsors, and develop case plans with particular attention to culture, language, and special circumstances.
  • Apply a trauma informed approach to support families in building trust through safety, connection, and self-regulation.
  • Maintain a high standard of record-keeping according to AI and ORR policies and procedures.
  • Provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure that each child receives the services they require.
  • Assess the safety and appropriateness of the placement on an ongoing basis using child welfare principles and social work best practices through phone/video calls, interviews, and home visits.
  • Coordinate and maintain communication with key stakeholders.
  • Participate in regular training and communication sessions with supervisor and headquarters staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of health care records and information in keeping with HIPAA and Protected Health Information (PHI) requirements.
  • Must maintain confidentiality in all program areas including information regarding youth.
  • Participate in regular training and communication sessions utilizing Teams, Zoom or other platforms required for meeting with peers, supervisors, and headquarters staff.
  • Submit case notes, assessments and reports timely as required by ORR and Applied Intellect using ORR’s documentation software and Applied Intellect’s internal software system used for case monitoring, maintenance, and storage.
  • Display professional conduct and ensure respectful interactions during any contact with children, sponsors, coworkers, supervisors, ORR representatives, and other vendors or community members.
  • Provide support with home studies and placement/intake initiatives based on need and availability.
  • Must adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Must follow all company and Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
