About the position

The Level 2 Network Operations Support Engineer at Contour Data Solutions is responsible for managing and maintaining networking equipment in a fast-paced environment. This role involves troubleshooting, change control, and providing support to both internal and external clients. The engineer will also mentor Level 1 team members and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day activities and maintenance of networking equipment.
• Serve as an escalation point and mentor for the Level 1 Team.
• Build professional relationships with clients to improve service satisfaction.
• Quickly resolve incidents submitted by clients and monitor alerts to preemptively address issues.
• Document IT environment, including system reviews and recommendations.
• Implement and support hardware such as servers, workstations, firewalls, and switches.
• Communicate with customers regarding incident progress and changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of large, complex IP-based networks.
• 3+ years of experience in Network Capacity Planning, Performance Monitoring/Management, and Network Design Architecture.
• 3+ years of experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc.) and load balancing using BGP for dual ISP.
• Advanced knowledge of Quality-of-Service (QoS) and MPLS-based networks.
• Strong understanding of Cisco routers and switches in a corporate infrastructure.
• Experience with network security practices and tools.

• Group Policy experience in pushing software to client computers.
• Experience with iPhone/iPad/Android devices.
• Experience supporting phone systems from Microsoft Teams.
• Experience with Apple computers in a networked environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of Windows server environment including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS.
