About The Position

Premier Companies (Premier Ag Co-op) is seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Level 2 Help Desk Technician to support our ERP and business systems. In this conversational, customer-facing role, you’ll be the go-to expert for both remote and on-site technical assistance, helping users make the most of our enterprise applications (like our AgVantage ERP on AS/400). If you love solving problems, working with end-users, and don’t mind getting out in the field, this job could be a great fit!

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in an IT support or help desk role, including hands-on support of business applications or ERPs.
  • Strong general IT troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose issues methodically.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to branch sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on occasion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PC networks and phone systems as well as basic understanding of databases or SQL is helpful.
  • Experience with data analysis or scripting in R or Python, PHP a plus helping to automate reporting and crunching data from our systems.
  • Agricultural tech familiarity, understanding agronomy, grain, or energy distribution will give you context when supporting our users.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex issues on our core business applications (AgVantage ERP) and related software used in accounting, inventory, and operations.
  • Provide on-site field support to various local co-op branch sites to provide hands-on support.
  • Respond to helpdesk inquiries remotely when not in the field, working within our ticketing system to track issues.
  • Monitor system alerts and handle support tickets, ensuring minimal downtime for critical business processes.
  • Help with configuring and deploying hardware and software for new users or system updates ensuring our business systems run smoothly and evolve with our needs.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and end-users to understand their needs and translate them into tech solutions.
  • Coach employees on how to use features of the ERP or other applications more effectively, bridging any tech literacy gaps.
  • Serve as a 'On-Call' point of contact during agriculture's busy seasons for urgent issues that arise for field staff and truck drivers after hours on a rotating schedule shared with your colleagues.
