We are seeking a dedicated L1MA - Level 1 Medication Aide to join our team! Level 1 Medication Aide (L1MA) is responsible for the provision of tenant services, including assistance with personal care, social and recreational activities, meal services, and other tasks as needed to facilitate the continued well-being of tenants. The L1MA is additionally responsible for passing medication to assisted living tenants.

  • Administering medications, effectively and safely, to assisted living tenants.
  • Adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice and individuality of tenants. Demonstrates an appreciation of the heritage, values, and wisdom of the tenant and an understanding of the aging process.
  • Reviews Tenant Service Plans as needed to gain and maintain a familiarity with tenant service needs and preferences.
  • Reviews the Staff 24-Hour Communication log and corresponding Tenant Service Notes on a daily basis for information about changes in tenant service needs and/or health conditions.
  • Provides personal services to tenants as assigned and as indicated on Tenant Service Plans.
  • Responds to calls from the emergency call system in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment by providing housekeeping services as needed.
  • Assists with individual tenant and group social/recreational activities as requested; encourages tenant participation in activities.
  • Monitors for changes in tenant needs, preferences, and/or health status, and reports/documents any changes according to established procedures.
  • Responds to emergencies in an appropriate manner as per training received.
  • Works effectively with minimal supervision and in a team setting.
  • Must have and maintain an active Level 1 Medication Aide certification in the State of Missouri.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Must have 1-2 years’ previous experience working with the elderly, preferably in a residential setting.
  • The ideal candidate will additionally have an active Insulin Administration certification in the State of Missouri.
  • Also prefer experience in providing assistance with activities of daily living.
