The Level 1 MacOS Engineer supports the organization's Apple device ecosystem by managing, securing, and improving the MacOS environment. This role focuses on day-to-day Mac administration, automation of routine tasks, and vulnerability management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow their skills in a fast-paced IT operations environment. This position will require onsite attendance in the Richardson office weekly.

  • Administer and support all corporate MacOS and iOS devices, ensuring consistent performance, security, and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage Apple devices using Mosyle MDM, including device enrollment, configuration profiles, app deployments, and policy enforcement.
  • Support and maintain software deployments, system updates, and patching processes across all endpoints.
  • Work with Tenable RiskSense to track, analyze, and remediate MacOS-related vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate common tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot Apple-related technical issues and escalate complex problems to senior team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure alignment on security, compliance, and user experience.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation for Apple systems, automation scripts, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Participate in onboarding/offboarding of users, ensuring timely provisioning and de-provisioning of Apple devices.
  • Stay current with MacOS updates, Apple ecosystem changes, and emerging tools to improve system reliability and user experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; relevant certifications (e.g., Apple Certified Support Professional) are a plus.
  • 1-2 years of IT experience with a focus on MacOS administration preferred.
  • Familiarity with Apple device management tools; Mosyle experience is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of security best practices and basic principles of vulnerability management; Tenable RiskSense experience is a plus.
  • Some scripting experience (e.g., Bash, Python, or similar) for automation tasks.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a team-oriented environment.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of network fundamentals, DNS, and Wi-Fi connectivity as they relate to MacOS devices.
  • Exposure to ITSM tools and ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of security principles and compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS benchmarks for MacOS, basic familiarity with HIPAA or PCI is helpful).
  • Experience supporting users in a mixed environment (Windows/macOS/Linux).
  • Expertise in disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and risk management.
