About The Position

We are currently searching for talented Level 1, Level 2, and Sr. CEI Inspector with relevant ALDOT certifications to support our East Gulf Region in North Alabama. The role involves inspection for compliance with contract documents, standards, and specifications, testing of materials, and reviewing plans. Inspectors will keep daily diaries on project operations, resolve daily constructability issues, and troubleshoot problems to mitigate delays to project progress. They will monitor contractor's daily operations, document pay records, perform construction calculations, and enter data using computers or iPads. Effective communication and coordination with contractors, subcontractors, utility owners, and property owners are essential to minimize delays and disturbances while maximizing project progress. Inspectors will also run soil/base density tests using a nuclear density machine and test concrete on-site.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction
  • Possess a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Must be able to perform moderate physical activity including but not limited to walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and standing
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends as required
  • Must apply safety philosophy and program to all operations
  • Must possess immediate ability to work in the United States
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Valid driver’s license
  • A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)

  • ALDOT Certifications a plus but not required

Responsibilities
