Job Description Let’s Grow Program Program Goal To provide inclusive opportunities in combination with specialized direct instruction in order to prepare students for inclusion in the next grade in their zone schools. Staffing Model Special Educator Two Special Education Paraeducators Let’s Grow Teacher Responsibilities The Let’s Grow Citywide Special Educator is responsible for planning and instruction for the general Pre-K and Kindergarten curriculum as well as addressing IEP goals for individual students within the special education setting. In addition, the Let’s Grow Citywide Special Educator will collaborate with the general education teachers to plan and implement instruction in the general education setting during inclusion time Provides core curriculum instruction and specialized instruction toward IEP goals in the Let’s Grow special education classroom Completes district assessments Inputs grades into Illuminate Completes all formal assessments Completes IEP report cards and all IEP paperwork Models best practices in Universal Design for Learning, differentiation, and the use of visuals as needed in the general education classrooms Collaborates with the General Educator to plan instruction and develop schedules. The Let’s Grow Citywide Special Educator is responsible for planning and instruction for the general Pre-K and Kindergarten curriculum as well as addressing IEP goals for individual students within the special education setting. Let’s Grow Citywide Special Educator will collaborate with the general education teachers to plan and implement instruction in the general education setting during inclusion time. Let’s Grow Citywide Special Educators are responsible for creating and maintaining a data collection system for students with collaboration from the general education teachers. Let’s Grow staff will ensure all aspects of the IEP are implemented, to include Supplementary Aids and Services and testing accommodations, in all settings throughout the day. This includes making sure appropriate tools and materials are available in all settings and supporting general education teachers in using tools as needed.   • Maryland State Teacher Certification or eligibility to obtain certification (Required)
  • Eligible for hire by Baltimore City Public Schools (Required)
  • Passion for working with students from historically resilient communities (Required)
  • Two years of teaching experience in a public school (Strongly Preferred)
  • Experience teaching in a predominantly African American environment (Preferred)
