About The Position

The LEGO Instructor position at Journey to STEAM involves teaching engaging LEGO-based educational programs to elementary students (grades K-5) in various locations. This part-time role is designed for individuals who enjoy working with children and have a passion for STEAM education. Instructors will create interactive learning environments, follow provided lesson plans, and ensure a safe and fun experience for all students.

Requirements

  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license.

  • Availability during programming hours (2:30-4:30 PM) two or more days each week.

  • Some college experience preferred; education majors a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Dive deep into the curriculum and concepts, ensuring everyone gains value from the experience.
  • Lead each class, ensuring every child is engaged and having fun.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and clients, addressing questions and concerns respectfully.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines for supervising and releasing children.
  • Care for and maintain the LEGO teaching kits and assigned materials.
  • Respond promptly to management communications via phone, text, or email.
  • Maintain communication with the Lead Instructor, sharing updates and ensuring alignment.
  • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs as needed.
