About The Position

The Legislative Liaison for the Pennsylvania Health Insurance Exchange Authority (PHIEA) plays a crucial role in shaping public policy and advocating for change at the state level. This position involves building and maintaining relationships with state and federal legislators, attending relevant hearings, tracking legislation, analyzing the impact of new laws, and responding to legislative inquiries. The role is essential for ensuring that PHIEA's priorities are effectively communicated and addressed within the legislative framework.

Requirements

• Five years of professional and varied governmental legislative experience; and a bachelor's degree; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Pennsylvania residency is required.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of experience working with the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
• Experience with Affordable Care Act (ACA) federal or state-based exchanges and/or health coverage programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the liaison with the General Assembly for all PHIEA priorities.
• Build and maintain relationships with state and federal legislators and their offices.
• Attend relevant hearings and town hall meetings.
• Track movement of relevant legislation and regulations.
• Analyze the impact of new laws and rules from federal or state partners.
• Respond to legislative inquiries, including complaints and escalations.
