About The Position

Bloomberg Government is seeking a senior content editor to shape and shepherd expert legislative analysis. We’re looking for a detail-oriented editor with strong news judgment who can edit coverage of legislation and policy issues at the federal and state levels as well as their effects on key industries. You’ll work in traditional narrative content formats as well as with slide decks and webinar and live event materials.

Requirements

• Exceptional curiosity and news judgment to unpack complicated legal and government actions.
• Excellent editing and writing skills.
• Highly collaborative with the ability to manage change and influence others in the newsroom.
• Strong communication skills with reporters and editors of various backgrounds and experience levels.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to juggle stories and meet tight newsroom deadlines.
• Self-starter who sets high standards and leads by personal example.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Seven-or-more years of experience in journalism.

Responsibilities

• Plan, pitch, and execute content that informs and delights our audiences.
• Coach reporters and analysts on how to break more and bigger news.
• Help select terrific feature ideas.
• Ensure deadlines are met.
• Pitch ideas for videos, podcasts, and webinars.
