The Lockheed Martin Legal Department Summer Associate will undertake a variety of legal research and writing projects, supporting varied functions within the Legal Department, including litigation, environmental, safety and health compliance advice, employment matters, and transactional support. An ability to juggle multiple assignments and work in a fast-paced environment are necessary. Specific tasks will range from legal research and drafting memoranda explaining legal issues and options to drafting transactional documents to preparing presentations for business leaders to assisting in the Department’s efforts to develop AI use cases and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and active enrollment in JD program from accredited law school.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and excellent analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated work ethic.
  • Ability to juggle and manage overlapping or competing time demands.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to establish effective relationships with peers and more senior leaders.
  • Experience in a legal environment, such as law firm -paralegal or in-house counsel support role.
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in national security, defense industry or related fields

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda.
  • Summarize factual information from documents, depositions and other sources.
  • Review and revise legal documents and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Analyze corporate and legal department data for trends, common issues and related information for overall department management.
  • Special projects as assigned.
