About The Position

The Legal Department's Legal Loss Mitigation Team is seeking a Legal Specialist to support a team of attorneys who advise Capital One's various lines of business on their loss mitigation objectives. The Associate will perform a broad range of task and project-oriented support, including review and research of internal and external loss mitigation related issues.

Requirements

Strong written and oral communication skills
The ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple, simultaneous deadlines
Sound judgment
The ability to work both independently and as a team
Strong problem solving skills
Proficiency in Google Suite
Ability to learn and navigate multiple platforms
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
At least 1 year of experience in project management
At least 1 year of experience in administrative support

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree or military experience
Project management certification
1+ years of experience in a law firm or legal department
Paralegal certification

Responsibilities

Manage Legal Matter intake process for various lines of business
Research, document, and resolve a wide variety of requests using independent judgment
Independently manage workload in an efficient manner
Identify and solve issues within scope and escalate to management when appropriate
Actively support and comply with team and department objectives
Assist with team administrative functions, special projects, and reporting
Work with management to identify and execute process improvements
May be trained to support multiple processes
