About The Position

Cozen O'Connor's Houston office seeks a full-time Litigation Legal Practice Assistant with proven e-filing experience in Federal and Texas District Courts, as well as courts in neighboring states. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, strategic thinking, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in assisting senior attorneys are essential. Strong organizational and computer skills are required. Work Schedule Hybrid: Three days in-office, two days remote

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of recent litigation experience
  • State and Federal e-filing expertise
  • Familiarity with litigation procedures and processes
  • Calendaring and docketing experience
  • Experience with document management systems (iManage Work 10 preferred)
  • Redlining experience preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Professional interaction with clients, attorneys, and staff
  • Willingness to work overtime
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare litigation documents, including pleadings and discovery, from draft to final format
  • Proofread all work for accuracy and context
  • Maintain client and office files in accordance with firm guidelines (electronic and paper)
  • Submit new client and matter forms
  • Arrange travel, including transportation, car rentals, and hotel reservations
  • Manage document workflows: duplication, PDF conversion, printing, mailing, and merging
  • Prepare and submit expense reports and check requests
  • Collaborate with the Billing department to resolve issues and process final statements
  • Utilize clients' electronic billing systems and monitor billing processes
  • Communicate with clients daily via phone and email
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and conferences
  • Demonstrate strong document processing and project management skills
  • Support other practice areas as needed
