About The Position

BenefitHub is seeking a highly capable and versatile non‑attorney legal professional to act as the operational backbone of the Legal function. The position will manage high‑volume contracts-related work, namely NDAs, amendments, redlined outbound agreements and generation of notices, serve as an administrator for BenefitHub’s CLM system, and handle a wide range of legal operations and paralegal responsibilities. The position is fully-remote.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of contracts experience, including NDA and amendment ownership, outbound commercial agreements, such as license and partnership agreements, as well as vendor agreements, including Order Form, MSAs and SOWs, and use of playbooks, including routing workflows for internal stakeholder review and approval.
  • Proven ownership of one or more CLM systems.
  • Experience supporting a lean legal team.
  • Proven ability to use playbooks and advanced document review and issue‑spotting skills.
  • Process‑builder mindset with ability to create and refine workflows.
  • Strong project management abilities and exemplary organizational skills.
  • Can operate independently, utilize online collaboration tools, and serve as a proxy for the Legal Department.
  • Thrives in a fast‑paced, lean environment.
  • Strong communicator across various business teams.
  • Ability to hold their own and state their case to seasoned executives and driven sales and other business teams.
  • Tech‑savvy with an interest in continuing to improve legal processes.
  • Lethal contract negotiator.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to worldwide operations, including in Canada, is a big plus.
  • CP certification is a plus too.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary owner of all NDAs, including intake, review of redlines and escalations, as well as for amendments and contract notices.
  • Draft and negotiate inbound and outbound commercial agreements.
  • Ensure all agreements are properly named, versioned and archived.
  • Assist with maintenance and updating of templates and playbooks.
  • Serve as administrator and SME for CLM system.
  • Conduct training for stakeholders.
  • Maintain repository integrity.
  • Develop reporting for stakeholders.
  • Manage the legal inbox and prioritize requests.
  • Build or refine intake processes.
  • Assist with policy development management.
  • Coordinate stakeholder approvals and signature processes.
  • Identify automation and workflow improvements.
  • Support entity maintenance and governance.
  • Support compliance tasks and regulatory filings.
  • Assist with due diligence and information gathering.
  • Conduct research and prepare summaries.
  • Manage legal vendor onboarding, budgets and invoices.
