The Legal Intern will assist with legal research and writing, filings and corporate record keeping, and may also assist legal department in public policy advocacy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, and in the process of completing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree
• Excellent research, writing, analytical and communication skills
• The highest levels of initiative, creativity, and good judgment
• Well-organized, self-directed and able to complete multiple tasks in a timely and efficient manner

Responsibilities

• Preparing and maintaining corporate records, maintaining corporate minute books, assisting in drafting corporate minute meetings
• Assisting in the review of due diligence materials for mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions
• Drafting supporting documentation for legal transactions
• Assisting in drafting of pleadings, briefs, demand letters, and other legal correspondence
• Researching legal questions and drafting legal memoranda
• Researching and drafting policy advocacy documents
• Researching and drafting materials for public education
• Assisting legal team members in company-wide initiatives (sustainability, knowledge management, etc); and general legal research and compiling of legal information
