About the Legal team: NETSCOUT is currently seeking a law student full-time during the summer for a paid internship at our Westford, MA office location. This internship is intended to provide the candidate with hands-on experience and exposure to the day-to-day activities of a highly skilled corporate legal and compliance team. The legal intern can expect exposure to the diverse subject areas covered by the corporate legal team, including corporate governance, employment, IP, commercial contracts, litigation and disputes, securities, regulatory, compliance and ethics.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a J.D. program
  • Team player, ability to multitask, close attention to detail, and a willingness to work on a variety of matters
  • Ability to work independently once given direction
  • Excellent legal research, writing, communication and problem-solving skills
  • The selected intern will be required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement obligating them to maintain the confidentiality of any information they receive while engaged as an intern for NetScout; and to comply with NetScout's Code of Conduct.
  • Intern will also be required to submit to a background check.
  • Education Associate (or equivalent work experience)

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Oracle, SharePoint, and/or Diligent (f/k/a Blueprint) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Legal research and analysis on a variety of issues
  • Assist with program documentation including policies, manuals, training materials and employee communications
  • Assist with corporate governance matters
  • Assist with contract review, interpretation and summarization
  • Participate in Legal Department projects - determined on an as-needed basis
  • General tasks – assisting with contract management, preparing and organizing files, assistance with maintaining our various databases, running and reviewing reports, drafting, marking up documents, and other tasks, as needed
  • Preparation of presentations
  • Attend meetings
