About The Position

As a Legal Intern, you will work directly with the General Counsel and Corporate Attorneys, assisting with critical legal matters relevant to the automotive supply industry. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Legal Research: Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on a variety of topics, including commercial law (UCC), contract disputes, regulatory compliance (e.g., product liability, environmental, import/export), and labor/employment law. Document Drafting : Draft, review, and edit legal documents, including internal memoranda, policies, standard contract clauses, and correspondence. Litigation Support: Assist attorneys in litigation by organizing documents, summarizing discovery, calendaring case milestones, and researching procedural issues. Corporate Matters: Assist with annual filings and corporate record keeping. Project Management: Track legal projects, manage document organization, and prepare reports for the Legal Department. Training . Draft training and how to materials. Seeking an intern who is available to start and soon as possible to work on a year-round basis, 12-15 hours per week during the school year; 32 hours per week during the summer

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school and have completed the first year (1L) of studies, classifying as a second-year (2L) law student by the start of the internship.
  • Strong academic performance, particularly in core courses such as Contracts, Corporations, and Legal Research & Writing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) to efficiently find and synthesize complex legal information (judicial externship helpful)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal memoranda.
  • A strong interest in the automotive industry, manufacturing, and the specific challenges faced by global suppliers.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
