This posting is for a summer internship lasting approximately 10-12 weeks. The NYSDHR is the state agency tasked with enforcing New York's Human Rights Law, which prohibits discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations, credit, and other areas. The division investigates, prosecutes, and adjudicates complaints of discrimination and works to eliminate barriers to equal treatment and opportunity for all New Yorkers. The Summer Legal Intern will work closely with attorneys and investigators at the NYSDHR to assist with legal and investigatory tasks related to discrimination complaints. Interns will gain hands-on experience in civil rights law and the workings of a state agency dedicated to upholding human rights.
