Legal Externship
About The Position
This externship provides students with exposure to the equipment finance and leasing industry, a specialized area of commercial law that sits at the intersection of finance, secured transactions, contract law, and regulatory compliance. Dext Capital operates as a national equipment finance company, working with businesses to structure, document, and manage financing solutions for mission-critical equipment across a variety of industries. From a legal perspective, equipment finance touches many core areas of business law, including Article 2A and Article 9 of the UCC, risk allocation, collateralization, default remedies, and regulatory considerations unique to financial services companies.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a law school program with Lewis and Clark.

Responsibilities
- Legal research related to equipment leases and secured transactions
- Contract review and drafting support
- Compliance and regulatory research
- Exposure to risk management and litigation support
- Collaboration with business and compliance teams
