About The Position

We are a fast-growing, Series A AI startup building a next-generation platform that helps innovative organizations manage and protect intellectual property more efficiently. Our customers include leading research institutions and technology companies working on cutting-edge advancements across multiple industries. We operate fully remote and are backed by top-tier investors.

This is not a traditional legal or engineering role. As our first Legal Engineer, you’ll operate at the intersection of SaaS implementation, IP strategy, data transformation, and customer partnership. You will lead end-to-end customer implementations — from extracting messy legacy data to delivering a fully configured, optimized platform environment. You’ll play a foundational role in shaping how this function scales as the company grows.

Requirements

• 3+ years in SaaS implementation, professional services, consulting, or legal ops
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data cleanup)
• SQL proficiency and comfort manipulating datasets
• Ability to manage enterprise stakeholders and navigate complex organizations
• Strong communication skills — able to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
• High ownership and comfort in fast-moving startup environments

Nice To Haves

• Experience with IP management platforms
• Automation experience (APIs, scripts, low-code tools)
• Familiarity with IP data, technology transfer, or legal operations

Responsibilities

• Lead 5–15 concurrent SaaS implementations
• Run scoping sessions with enterprise stakeholders
• Map workflows and translate business requirements into system configurations
• Clean, normalize, and migrate large IP datasets
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Customer Success
• Serve as the “voice of the customer” internally
• Improve and standardize implementation processes
