About The Position
Piper Companies is seeking a Legal Data Technician to join a dynamic team focused on enterprise contract management initiatives. This role is critical in centralizing and organizing company contract records within Salesforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency. It's an excellent opportunity for someone with light legal experience and strong technical skills who can interpret basic contract elements and manage digital records effectively. This is a hybrid, project-based position (3-6 months) with the potential for permanent placement.
Requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret basic contract terms (effective dates, termination clauses, renewal terms).
- Familiarity with Salesforce navigation (upload/download, record lookup).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and document management tools (SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Experience in legal or compliance environments, digital document management, metadata tagging, or data quality principles.
Responsibilities
- Locate and review existing contracts across multiple repositories (shared drives, email archives, document systems).
- Identify contract types and verify status (active, inactive, expired) using predefined checklists.
- Upload contracts and related metadata into Salesforce, following standardized naming conventions.
- Ensure document accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all records.
- Associate contracts with the correct accounts, contacts, or opportunities in Salesforce.
- Assist with quality control and reporting to validate data integrity and support process improvements.
