About The Position

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
• Graduation from an accredited law school.

• Ability to convey complex legal ideas and instructions clearly to staff.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with agency staff and the legal community.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Advise staff on legal matters and interpret laws, regulations, and policies.
• Provide agency representation in court cases.
• Prepare cases for trial and handle trials for most cases.
• Provide legal training to agency staff and the legal community.
• Coordinate specialized legal efforts with appropriate experts.
• Prepare or supervise the preparation of legal opinions, briefs, legal pleadings, and reports.
• Assist in formulating, establishing, and coordinating office systems.
• Promote and ensure respect for cultural diversity.
