About The Position

We are seeking a mid-level attorney to join our Legal team and support our inbound procurement activities. This role will initially focus on InterSystems’ U.S. based vendor and supplier programs, with the opportunity to eventually take on the role worldwide. The legal counsel will partner closely with Cyber Security, Finance, Technical Services, and other cross-functional teams to negotiate and manage agreements with vendors that provide goods and services essential to InterSystems’ operations. The role will also support customer contracting and other legal needs that arise from time to time, offering broad exposure across the Legal team.

Requirements

  • D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • At least 3-6 years of relevant legal experience required
  • Strong understanding of SaaS, cloud services, software licensing, and technology procurement principles
  • Proven ability to negotiate with sophisticated counterparties and balance legal risk with business objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound decision making skills, business acumen, and legal judgment
  • Skilled at managing competing priorities in a fast-paced organization
  • Comfortable working independently with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about process improvement and operational excellence

Responsibilities

  • Work out of the Boston, Massachusetts office
  • Responsible for a variety of legal issues impacting InterSystems’ procurement activities, including:
  • Non-disclosure agreements
  • Software licenses
  • SaaS Agreements
  • Consulting agreements with independent contractors and associated statements of work
  • Hardware procurement agreements
  • Vendor compliance with InterSystems’ policies
  • Collaborate with the Legal team in the region
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes regarding pricing, approvals, and other requirements
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with external requirements, statutes, and standards related to healthcare information technology, data protection, and other areas
  • Perform special projects as requested
