About The Position

The Legal Counsel position at dsm-firmenich involves providing proactive and effective legal support to various business units. Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as Legal counsel in a corporate setting or in a law firm
• Licensed to practice law in the state of New Jersey
• A learning mentality
• Judicial clerkship a plus
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited university

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on commercial, operational and strategic plans to prevent/minimize negative legal consequences/exposure
• Proactively stay abreast of developments on legislation, regulation and jurisprudence in fields of expertise and geographic areas
• Draft, negotiate and advise on contracts and contract related documents
• Handle all claims and cooperate in the coordinate litigation
• Provide regular updates and reports to management and other stakeholders on the status of ongoing matters, advising of potential risk and impacts on the organization.
