About The Position

Qualcomm is seeking an experienced attorney to join its legal department in San Diego, California, to support its global indirect procurement organization. This role will provide legal counsel across worldwide sourcing activities, with a primary focus on SaaS, cloud, IT, and other technology-enabled services used across Qualcomm’s global operations. The attorney will serve as a strategic legal partner to global procurement, IT, information security, privacy, finance, and regional stakeholders, helping manage legal risk while enabling efficient, scalable, and compliant global purchasing. This role requires full-time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week).

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree or international equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience as counsel at a law firm or in-house.
  • Active bar license to practice law in the state or jurisdiction where the employee will be practicing (or ability to obtain upon hiring).
  • Juris Doctor or equivalent; active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Seven or more years of legal experience in commercial contracts or technology transactions.
  • Substantial experience negotiating SaaS, software, cloud, or IT services agreements in a global enterprise environment.

  • Experience supporting global procurement organizations.
  • Familiarity with international data protection and information security regimes.
  • Experience developing global templates and playbooks for technology procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate global indirect procurement agreements, including SaaS, cloud services, software licensing, IT services, professional services, and managed services.
  • Lead negotiations for enterprise-wide and multi-region technology agreements.
  • Advise on complex commercial terms such as protection of information, service levels, audit rights, indemnities, limitations of liability, and termination provisions.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks related to global technology procurement, including data protection, cybersecurity, export controls, sanctions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the full lifecycle of global indirect procurement transactions, from RFPs and supplier onboarding through renewals, amendments, and exits.
  • Develop and maintain global templates, playbooks, and contracting frameworks for SaaS and IT procurement.
  • Collaborate with global procurement leadership, IT, finance, compliance, and regional stakeholders.
  • Provide legal support for vendor performance issues, escalations, and disputes.
