Summary: In this role, you will serve as a trusted legal advisor to a wide range of internal stakeholders in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will manage the negotiation of complex commercial transactions, while providing practical guidance on a variety of contracting matters. The position requires close partnership with cross-functional teams across the organization, including GPO participants and vendors, to support business objectives and manage risk effectively.

Requirements

Juris Doctorate (JD) degree required.
Admission to the bar in at least one state required.
No prior experience required.
Extensive knowledge and negotiation experience working with complex commercial transactions and general contracting matters.
Ability to effectively manage responsibilities with an appropriate sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and acute attention to detail.
Ability to exercise independent judgment, and to work with and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Proven ability to take a proactive long-term view of business goals and objectives to achieve strategic business results.

Nice To Haves

Experience working as legal counsel in a law firm and/or in-house legal counsel preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide legal support to Vizient’s Supply Chain business, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating procurement contracts.
Collaborate with and provide counsel to internal stakeholders, including senior management and operational teams.
Build relationships with business unit team members through an open and collaborative approach.
Assist business teams in achieving the company’s goals and objectives in a legal and ethical manner.
Work collaboratively with fellow legal team members to assist in all aspects of commercial transactions projects from structuring to completion, improve processes, share best practices, and generally promote a collegial working environment.
Proactively identify legal and regulatory risks and trends and provide related advice.
