About The Position

The Opus Edge/Hudson Valley Credit Union Summer intern program is a 10-week paid internship that provides you insight and broad exposure into the legal and compliance field. Summer interns participate in a variety of activities designed to foster teamwork, encourage networking, and engage with senior leadership. Our goal is for you to have the opportunity to build upon your academic foundation - specifically technical skills, industry knowledge, and familiarity with a corporate environment - while pursuing your career, based on your interests and background. Your training and development is our top priority, with training offered throughout the internship, as well as on-the-job support and mentorship. Pay Rate: $20/HR.

Requirements

• GPA 3.0+
• College Sophomore+
• Pre-law, Paralegal Studies or other related field

Responsibilities

• Participate in a variety of day-to-day activities depending on the team to which you are aligned.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research on financial regulations, including banking and insurance laws.
• Support the legal team in reviewing and updating internal policies to ensure compliance with current regulations.
• Monitor updates and developments in financial regulations.
• Analyze and interpret regulatory requirements and their implications.
• Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements.
• Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge.
• Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
• Embrace and apply HVCU's guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities.
• Support the Credit Union's initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
• Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.
