About The Position

Legal College Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support the Office of Legal Counsel and assist the department in its mission Assist staff in coordinating legal activities Research, writing, and assisting with projects Assist with projects needing legal research Research, analyze, investigate and draft legal documents Prepare, review and edit legal correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents under guidance of supervisor Research and analyze legal sources such as statutes, case law, administrative records, opinions, articles, treaties, policies, and rules and regulations Attend and observe administrative hearings Assist staff with case management Follow policies and rules to ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information Comply with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity Apply your knowledge of administrative law Use Lexis/Nexis legal research tools Perform other duties as directed Work Hours: Part-time variable work schedule between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday; may work up to 29 hours per week.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be currently and continuously enrolled in law school. Applicants not enrolled in at least one course will not be eligible for the internship.
  • Applicants must have successfully completed at least their first year of law school from an ABA-approved school of law in the United States to be considered for this internship.
  • All applicants must submit a letter from the college registrar's office, on official college letterhead, clearly stating the following information:
  • Verification of enrollment in the 2026 Spring semester/quarter
  • Verification of status (e.g., freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, graduate, law, etc.)
  • Major course of study
  • Dates the 2026 Spring semester/quarter began and ends
  • Estimated date of graduation
  • Internship

Responsibilities
