About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Land Use department. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide essential support to our land use team, ensuring the smooth operation of our legal processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for law and a desire to contribute to the success of a fast-paced legal practice.

Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • 2-5 Years of experience as a Legal Assistant
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the Land Use Practice area is required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or certification in paralegal studies is a plus
  • Knowledge in document management system iManage and billing system Orion is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative tasks such as client payments, managing received mail and plans, and thorough record keeping
  • Organize and maintain all case files, including indexing/filing documents
  • Coordinate with clients, professionals, municipalities representatives and other parties involved in the application process
  • Open and close files
  • Documenting receipt of plans and reports
  • Prepare correspondence and communicate with clients on behalf of attorneys
  • Assemble and send certified mail
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information questions and requests
  • Answer phones in a pleasant and professional manner and communicating with clients, lenders, professionals, and other attorneys, daily by phone, email, and mailed correspondence
  • All other duties and responsibilities as delegated.
