About The Position

As part of the legal community since 1975, Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell, PLC provides the highest caliber legal counsel in a broad range of practice areas. The Firm is seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant who will provide support for multiple attorneys in our Nashville office.

Requirements

• Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in the legal assistant or paralegal field.
• This position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, solid proofreading skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• The position requires long periods of sitting/mostly computer work.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between internal and external third parties, including claims representatives from insurance companies and clients regarding administrative tasks and scheduling
• Gather, organize and maintain relevant information from sources through subpoenas or written requests (ex: medical records, employment records, etc.). Ensure proper indexing and filing of documents in files and case management software.
• Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents (form pleadings, motions, and discovery) as requested by supervising attorney(s)
• Perform administrative duties for supervising attorney(s), such as scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, and opening/organizing/closing case files
• Compile information for potential lay and expert witnesses, involving trial preparation, trial exhibits, coordination of witnesses, preparation meetings, and conduct jury panel research as needed
• Record, either periodically or regularly, billable time (as appropriate)
• Reviewing, scanning, and emailing the daily paper mail
• Management of invoices, including requesting and mailing out checks for payment
• Other duties may be assigned by supervisor(s)
