The Delaware Department of Justice seeks a Legal Assistant (Paralegal) to provide support to Deputy Attorneys General in the Civil Division, Defensive Litigation Unit in New Castle County. A Legal Assistant in this Unit must be able to draft, proofread, and format legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence; manage and organize case files, exhibits, and document productions; coordinate and assist with discovery, including e-discovery review and privilege log preparation; conduct legal and factual research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other resources; prepare deposition summaries, trial binders, and exhibit lists; file documents with federal and state courts, including e-filing; calendar court deadlines, hearings, and statutes of limitations; monitor docketing; coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel; assist attorneys during depositions, hearings, and trials; and manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. This Legal Assistant must be capable of working efficiently in a high-paced work environment and must be a self-starter, detail-oriented and well organized.
