About The Position

Are you a legal assistant interested in learning more about workers' compensation law? You've come to the right place! Kelley Kronenberg has a long-running and successful history defending workers' compensation claims on behalf of employers, insurance carriers, self-insured corporations, third-party administrators, and claims servicing agencies. As a Workers' Compensation Legal Assistant, you will play a critical role in our legal team's operations.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a law firm setting, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in Workers' Compensation or related litigation fields.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite, with the ability to efficiently manage correspondence, scheduling, and document preparation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, court personnel, and team members.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with courts to schedule hearings, ensuring all legal proceedings are organized and timely.
  • Scheduling mediations and managing the logistical aspects to facilitate smooth and efficient dispute resolution.
  • Fielding calls from our corporate clients, providing them with timely updates and ensuring their inquiries are addressed with professionalism.
  • Drafting and preparing correspondence related to upcoming hearings, meetings, and mediations, maintaining clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Performing a variety of administrative tasks to support the legal team, contributing to the seamless operation of our Workers' Compensation practice.
  • Maintain attorney's calendars.
  • Scheduling hearings, depositions, mediations, and inspections.
  • Coordinating with judges, opposing counsel, clients, mediators, vendors, and other legal positions in case.
  • E-Filing via E-Portal, E-Courtesy, and E-Service to opposing counsel.
  • Managing Case Glide, Acuity, and Atlas portals to update clients.
  • Handling incoming invoices.
  • Bills clients/ ensures billing requirements are met.
  • Drafting correspondences to adjusters, clients, mediators, opposing counsels and judges.
  • Drafting motions and notices/ ensuring subpoenas are served, redacting and putting together documents for discovery purposes.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Calendaring deadlines, hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Opening and closing of a file.
  • Other administrative tasks as requested by the unit's paralegals and attorneys.
