Requirements

  • Associates Degree; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of Legal Assistant/Paralegal experience.
  • Certified Paralegal preferred.
  • Experience in complex and/or commercial litigation.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and follow local rules for Federal Court filings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal Certificate (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, complaints, summons, subpoenas, and other discovery requests.
  • Filing motions and briefs in federal courts using ECF.
  • Reviewing, organizing, and analyzing documents produced during discovery and maintaining/managing them.
  • Ensuring proper indexing and filing of pleadings and case documents.
  • Serving as a liaison between clients, opposing counsel, and witnesses.
  • Utilizing a calendar/docket system to ensure all deadlines are timely met and managing cases.
