About The Position

Verrill is actively reviewing resumes for a Legal Assistant position in our Boston, Massachusetts office. As one of New England’s top full-service law firms, we are interested in hiring talented individuals to join our team. This role is a full-time, hourly position supporting attorneys in our Litigation Practice Group. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, typing, revising, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence, maintaining files (paper and electronic), calendaring and tracking deadlines, preparing and e-filing pleadings in state and federal trial courts, appellate courts, and supreme courts, liaising effectively with court personnel, staying up to date with changes in court rules and filing procedures, preparing expense reports, assisting with attorney time records and monthly billing process, conducting general research, answering the telephone, assisting clients, and responding promptly with the ability to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with litigation experience, and skilled in addressing sensitive topics with discretion and professionalism, ensuring confidentiality in all communications. The successful candidate will produce high quality work in a timely and professional manner, while providing exceptional client service and team support. The ideal applicant will have impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills, strong technical proficiency with advanced computer skills (including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and a general knowledge of both state and federal trial court processes and procedures. Applicants should have proven project management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks successfully, and excel in a collaborative team environment.
