About the position

Adecco is partnering with a highly regarded law firm specializing in insurance defense litigation to find a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Assistant. This position is designed for individuals with experience in insurance defense who are eager to support a dynamic legal team. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with seasoned attorneys and contribute to high-profile cases representing some of the nation's largest companies. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing all phases of insurance defense cases, ensuring that legal documents are prepared accurately and efficiently, and maintaining organized case files. You will also be responsible for coordinating meetings and court appearances, communicating with clients and other parties, and assisting with trial preparations. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in managing all phases of insurance defense cases, including the preparation of legal documents, case files, and correspondence.
  • Draft and format pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances, managing the attorneys' calendars efficiently.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients, insurance adjusters, and other parties, providing case updates and information as needed.
  • Conduct preliminary legal research and gather relevant information to support case strategies.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and preparing trial notebooks.
  • Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including managing phone calls, handling mail, and processing expense reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in insurance defense or related litigation fields.
  • Associate's degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with legal software and case management systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff members to support the legal team effectively.
  • High level of professionalism and respect for client confidentiality and ethical standards.
