Monmouth University invites applications for a Lecturer of Spanish in the Department of World Languages and Cultures. This position is for the 2025-2026 academic year and is a two-year appointment with the possibility of subsequent multi-year reappointments. Responsibilities will include teaching 12 credits per semester of undergraduate courses in Spanish language and Hispanic literatures and cultures, coordination of a multi-section Spanish language course, and advising students in the major. We are seeking a Ph.D. or ABD in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, Literature or a related field, with expertise in Afro-Hispanic Studies. We seek a teacher-scholar with demonstrated excellence in undergraduate instruction and an established research program. The candidate must also have an interest in collaborating with the minor in African Diaspora Studies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and teach a course with the Systemic Inequalities and Anti-Racism General Education designation.
